Green Globe aims to deliver the best Travel, Hospitality and Tourism benchmarking and certification products and services for each organisation involved.

The Green Globe company standard is designed for organisations within the Travel, Hospitality and Tourism Industry and sets out the criteria to attain a Certification along with providing an environmental management framework for organisations to achieve sustainability.

Consistent with the brand's commitments, Novotel Darling Harbour has taken note of issues of specific concern in its own operations. These are:

• Energy use
• Water consumption
• Recycling and waste management

Therefore, we have made the following commitments for the year 2009:

• Reduce energy consumption by 2%
• Monitoring water loss through cooling towers and making consistent adjustment
• Improved recycling methods through Co-Mingled Mix Recycling techniques

We also aim to achieve community development and involvement, through achieving small goals with staff awareness.

• Active participation in community environment events including (Clean up Australia Day, and Earth Hour)
• Added staff training on hotel specific environmental policies and procedures
