Sydney Fish Market (SFM) is the largest working fish market in the Southern Hemisphere and with over 100 species offered daily, the world's second largest in terms of variety.

An authentic fishermen's market, SFM incorporates a working fishing port, wholesale fish market, fresh food retail market, food and beverage outlets, a seafood cooking school and provides visitors with an entertaining harbourside experience.

SFM is a colourful and vibrant meeting place for the fishing community. Each weekday morning from 5.30am SFM's seafood auction takes place. Around 1000 crates every hour and 65 tonnes of freshcatch is sold daily. SFM conducts public 'Behind the Scene' tours of the auction every Thursday morning from 7.55am for $20. Group and private bookings can also be made.

SFM retail area is open to the public seven days a week from 7am to 4pm, SFM hosts six fresh seafood retailers and other various shops and food and beverage outlets.

SFM is also host to the renowned Sydney Seafood School (SSS). Considered to be one of Australia s leading cooking schools, SSS sees over 14,000 people attend each year. The School offers a great range of seafood cooking courses specialising in a huge variety of species, cuisines, and specialty seafood dishes.  Guest chefs are a regular feature alongside great Australian wines.
