Australia Day in Darling Harbour

There's nowhere better to take the family on Australia Day than Darling Harbour! Get everyone together to celebrate our cultural diversity with a huge day of free entertainment by the harbour including the official NSW Australia Day Spectacular.
Australia Day is one of Australia’s largest annual public events celebrated throughout Australia. This year Darling Harbour has various entertainment for families and individuals celebrating this national holiday in Sydney. Activities will consist of a children’s program in Darling Quarter, a world music stage in Palm Grove, various intimate street music arena’s and other performances including roving (costumes and stilts). Activities will be operational throughout the day and will finish with the Australia Day Spectacular in Cockle Bay, from 7pm to 9pm. Vessel’s will parade through the Harbour, the NSW Police Force will celebrate their 150th anniversary and the NSW Premier and Governor will gather to address the national event. The event will end with a stunning multimedia symphony of light, sound, music and fireworks.
After a full day of entertainment dine at Dish, A Restaurant and select the Australia Day only BBQ platter for 2 from our A La Carte menu whilst watching the Australia Day Spectacular fireworks from the perfect vantage point

Carols in the Domain

Woolworths Carols in the Domain is Australia’s largest free Christmas concert. Join thousands of sydneysiders that come together every year to celebrate Christmas singing carols by candlelight and watching popular performers, while raising funds for The Salvation Army Oasis Youth Support Network.

The famous work of Pablo Picasso, one of the most recognised figures and influential artists of the 20th century will be exhibited at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, Daily from 12 Nov 2011 until 25 Mar 2012.
The exhibition presents iconic works from virtually every phase of Picasso’s (1881-1973) legendary career, documenting the full range of his unceasing inventiveness and creative process. Drawn from the largest and most important repository of the artist’s work in the world, the exhibition will feature extraordinary paintings, sculptures, drawings, prints and ceramics.

ARIA Awards

The 27th of November bring forth the ARIA Awards as the annual Awards night celebrating the Australian music industry, put on by the Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA), commences with performances from Guy Sebastian, Gotye with Kimbra, Boy & Bear, Drapht, Art vs. Science, Gurrumul and a special guest appearance by Kylie Minogue.
There will be a range of presenters including of Hamish and Andy, Benji and Joel Madden, and Noah Taylor. 25 Awards, 9 Performances, One Magic Night.
Recognising the many achievements of Aussie artists across all music genres, the ARIA Awards are the music industry’s annual night of nights.

Get up-close and take a personal look at the artistry and craftsmanship that went into creating the iconic props and costumes that have appeared throughout the Harry Potter film series. Step inside the famous wizard’s magical world with Harry Potter: The Exhibition, opening at the Powerhouse Museum on 19 November 2011.
There are hundreds of authentic film artefacts displayed in settings inspired by locations from Hogwarts™ School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, including the Gryffindor™ common room, Hagrid’s hut, the Great Hall and many more.
The Powerhouse Museum located in Sydney’s Darling Harbour is the exclusive Australian venue for Harry Potter.
